Barrow-in-furness

Known as Barrow, Barrow-in-Furness, England is a Cumbria borough and town. As well as "Barrow" and "Furness", Barrow areas including Ormsgill and Yarlside have Old Norse origin names. Production later relocated to Barrow Airport, constructed in a shed at Cavendish Dock.

With suburbs extending to the north and east, as well as onto Walney, Barrow centre is to the north-east of the docks. In Conference National division of English football is Barrow A.F.C. Formed in 2011, Barrow is home to the Walney Terriers American Football club, the club trained at Memorial Fields before establishing grounds for training elsewhere in Ulverston and Barrow.

Opened on Cavendish Street in late 2011, Manhattans is Barrow's largest nightclub. Merged in 1974 with the Urban District of Dalton-in-Furness to form the Barrow-in-Furness Borough, it was incorporated in 1867 as a municipal borough and is part of Lancashire. The rail's manager, Schneider and James Ramsden, erected blast furnaces at Barrow that by 1876 formed the largest steelworks in the world.

Eroded from the Lake District National Park's mountains, to the north-east by (15 km) 10 miles, Barrow sits on soils deposited during the Ice Age. With parks including Vickerstown Park, Hindpool Urban Park, and Channelside Haven, the Barrow Park that is 45-Acre is the most centrally located and largest park that is man-made in the town.

As well as offering gallery space to artists and schoolchildren, the museum tells the Barrow history (including the Barrow Blitz, the shipyard, and the steelworks industry). At James Freel Close, the leisure destination that is growing (consisting of a bowling alley, indoor complex for kart racing, gym, trampoline centre, and indoor skate park), as well as in former Custom House of Hindpool Road, 'Lazer Zone', and a lazer quest that is similar, play centre and 'escape room' in the Hitchens Building that is former on Buccleuch Street include other visitor attractions in Barrow.

A commercial airport is Barrow Airport and Royal Air Force base currently owned by BAE Systems who operates one B250 aircraft and Beechkraft Kingair B200 which fly to Bristol, Glasgow, London and Manchester include destinations every weekday across the UK. Operated by the Morecambe Bay NHS Trust's University Hospitals, Furness General Hospital is Barrow's principal hospital, and on the outskirts of the town. Forming the college in Cumbria, furness College merged with Barrow Sixth Form College in 2016.
